Important Information about Running DynaBrowse.

This is a trial version. After 30 days DynaBrowse will still function, however, Voice Commands will be limited to the following 9 mouse movement commands until it is registered (Fee: $28 U.S.): Stop, Move Up, Move Down, Move Left, Move Right, Faster, Slower, Select, and Left Click

If you don't know what a button does just rest your cursor on it for one second. A hint (tooltip) will popup.

It may be important to "train" the speech recognition engine to recognize your voice. For an adult male with an average voice this may not be necessary, but it could still improve performance. This is very simple and could take as little as 10 minutes.

Click the "Options" button, then put your mouse over "Program Options", then click on "TRAIN / Set Speaker..."

Enter your name in the "New Speaker" Field then click on "Add New Speaker". The speech recognition engine now knows you. Click "Train Current Speaker" to begin the training session (this can be done more than once for more training).

If your browser does strange things while you type or if a cat barks, try moving the slider at the bottom to the right.

Tips:

  • The most important commands to remember are "faster" and "slower". You can even say them before you tell the mouse to move.
  • Click the "Options" button then "Program Options" then "Edit Custom Commands" to see what all the commands are and edit them.
  • When on a page with many links you would like to see try these commands "Enter key", "Backup", "Next field", "Enter key"...
  • The "Begin Selection" and End Selection" commands are also very cool.
  • The Browser also has Quick Links to let you set up commands to go to your favorite pages and 10 "radio style" buttons for favorite pages.
  • You can Block all those pesky new windows and new browsers with the "Suppress New Windows" option, but this may also block legitimate parts of some websites.
    a Word about Sound Cards:

A Full Duplex sound card is not absolutely required but it is recommended. If your sound card is Half Duplex it may lock up your audio and you will have to reboot your computer. It has been my experience that most on-board sound cards are half duplex.

The following information was copied from TechTV at: http://www.techtv.com/callforhelp/answerstips/story/0,23008,2236390,00.html

"Almost all sound cards sold in the last four or five years are full duplex. Full duplex means that the sound card can make sound and receive sound at the same time. You can talk and listen at the same time, just like a telephone. Walkie talkies are half duplex: You press the button to talk, but you can't talk and listen at the same time.

Sound Blaster 16 is a full duplex card, but the software drivers that originally shipped with older Sound Blaster 16s were not full duplex. That causes the card to default automatically to half duplex. If you have an older Sound Blaster 16 that operates at half duplex, you can make it work at full duplex by downloading the latest drivers from www.soundblaster.com. Once you've done that, you'll be able to speak and listen simultaneously on your netcam."

How to NOT use your on-board (built in) Sound Card:

If you are using the built in sound card on your computer and wish to install a third party sound card (I have always had very good luck with a good old Sound Blaster 16 by Creative Labs) you must first disable the on board sound.
This is done by entering the BIOS and turning this option off. Follow these steps
(these steps are general, your computer may vary slightly):

    I. Reboot the computer and watch the screen carefully as it first starts up.
II. When you see a message like "Press DEL to enter the BIOS" press DEL. F8 is another common key to get you into the BIOS.
III. Look for a command similar to "On Board Sound" and DISSABLE it by clicking something like the Page Up Key. This command is often found in a section resembling "Advanced Chipset Options".
IV. Click the escape key and Exit the BIOS SAVING your changes.
    V. Boot normally and install your new sound card following it's instructions.

NOTE: If you choose to keep using your existing Half Duplex Sound Card performance can be improved and lockups minimized by turning off some of your sound events in Windows. Particularly Menu Popup/Command items and Program Start items.
